Our January interview of the Evergreen Writer's Corner is with travel blogger, Tonya Hester. Tonya and her husband, Seth, spend most of their time globe trotting to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Learn more about her journey below!
Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born and raised in Gainesville, GA where my husband, Seth & I currently live. We love being close to our families. We’re about an hour away from Hartsfield Jackson Airport which is the main hub for Delta so we have lots of flight options when it comes to our trips!
Q: Where did your inspiration come from to start travel blogging?
A: I didn’t travel much growing up, but I had an Elementary School teacher that taught us a lot about Roman and Greek mythology, so from a young age Greece became by first official bucket list destination. I’m lucky to have found a spouse that enjoys traveling and adventure as much as I do so we’ve been exploring the world ever since we met. Our honeymoon was our first big trip and first time traveling to Europe. I’d say that was when the inspiration for the blog hit me, although it took a while before I actually took the first steps to making it happen!
Q: Where is your favorite place you've traveled and why?
A: My favorite place that we’ve traveled to is Croatia. We had stops in Dubrovnik and Split while on our honeymoon cruise. I didn’t even plan anything for those days of our trip, because I was more excited for Greece and Italy. Those days ended up being my favorite since we roamed around aimlessly. We spent the day ATVing and finding some Hidden Gems in Dubrovnik and exploring the most beautiful national park (Krka National Park) near Split.
